Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have MUCH to be thankful for!  One of the biggest things I'm thankful for are these three little turkeys!

Much love to you & your family as you celebrate Turkey Day!

Trick or Treat!

We had a great time Trick or Treating this year!  This was Henry's first year participating - last year he & I stayed home!

A couple quick pictures on our porch before we left...

We have a big neighborhood, so David got out the wagon & let the kids ride so they wouldn't tire out so quick.  This was smart, I wish someone pulled me around in a wagon!  Henry & I only made it to 5-6 houses before we called it a night.  I really just wanted him to get the experience & he loved it.  He liked all the people "ahhh"-ing over him & he liked going up to their doors & holding out his bag.

Emma is now an old-pro at Trick or Treat.  She & Daddy went last year, so she knew what she was doing & was always polite.  I was very proud.

Both kids LOVED answering the door to the other trick or treaters.  Emma stayed dressed up until bath time.  I thought I would give Henry a quick bath & then he'd go down for bed, but it was a no-go.  He was determined to stay up until our visitors were gone.  We closed shop around 8:45, so he was only a little late for bedtime.  Both kids were wound up - and honestly not on candy! Emma had only 1-2 pieces & I don't think Henry had any.  They just thought Halloween was fun.  :)

One funny story - when Emma came home from school after having the character parade (ie, Halloween afternoon), she said "Mom, I've changed my mind.  I don't want to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween anymore.  I want to be Tinkerbell." I explain that it's too late to change our mind, but she insists I should take her costume back to the store & get her Tinkerbell instead.  She wasn't too happy when I told her she'd have to wait for next year.  Who knows what she'll want to be by then! LOL

At any rate, we had a great time & no drama when it was time to get dressed as Minnie.  :)

Character Parade!

Every year at Halloween, Emma's school has a Character Parade!  All the kids from infants to Pre-K dress up in their costumes & line the halls, taking turns "trick or treating" at all the classrooms & showing off their costumes to the other kids & parents.

Emma was proud of the bag she made & the pumpkin she colored.

And she was super excited about the candy apparently...

Henry & I enjoyed hanging out with Emma & her friends Halloween morning.  It's always fun to see everyone's costumes!

My 28th Birthday!

I celebrated my 28th birthday on October 30....yes I was almost a Halloween baby. I was actually born around 5:30 in the evening.

Henry & spent the day just hanging out at home.  David took off work early & after he picked up Emma from school, they went to vote early, & then we went to dinner.  We ate at Longhorn & it was yummy!

Then we had ballet.  The boys went with us as a special treat.  Then we came home & took a few pictures!

My birthday cake! I requested an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen....it did not disappoint! :)

The next weekend, David & I got to have a lunch date to celebrate both our birthdays.  He turned 29 on November 3rd.  We went to Ted's for lunch & then saw Flight.  We had a great time!

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkins the Sunday before Halloween.  Emma helped pull out the seeds.

Henry helped through observation....

I carved a Mickey & Minnie pumpkin....kind of fit for our theme for this year....

Our pumpkins!

All of my pumpkins :)

Then the pumpkins promptly went out front.... two certain kids didn't want to leave them alone.

Fun at Grandma & Grandpa's

The Saturday before Halloween, the kids & David headed up to David's parents for some fall fun.  I was at the Outlets in North GA doing a little Christmas & Birthday shopping with my mom, dad, & Atchie.

Emma played in the leaves!

She carved pumpkins with the cousins.

And then all the cousins got dressed up to go trick or treating at Aunt Susan's dorm at Reinhart. There's Lorelei, Henry, Emma, Julie, William, Colin, & Thompson.

The Minnies & their Mickey

Mickey without his clothes on, lol

They had a ball trick or treating

After they got done, they drove down to meet me.  We went to see Nene.  All her friends loved seeing the kids dressed up.

Afterwards we had Mexican for dinner to celebrate my birthday!

Field Trip!

Emma's class took their first field trip to the Yule Forest in Stockbridge & Henry & I got to join them!

They learned about animals.

They watched parents race bouncy horses.

They listened to a talking chicken

And of course Emma posed.

Henry was a real sweet boy in his stroller.  He liked the big kids.

We took a hayride!

It was a character hayride, LOL.

The kids did jumpies, slides, & really liked this pillow of air that they got to jump on.  I was a little scared, it was very high.

Everyone had a great time!  A successful first trip!

Cookies & Pumpkins!

A couple weeks before Halloween I bought a cookie decorating kit at Walmart.  Emma & I spent one afternoon decorating, it was a lot of fun!

They turned out really cute....sadly they didn't taste as good as they looked.  The cookies were pre-made & pretty hard.  We ate a few & then tossed the rest... it was a fun memory though.

A day a little closer to Halloween week, we painted our baby pumpkins!

Both kids thought this was pretty fun.

They took their work very seriously.

This was definitely a hit - we'll do it again next year!! :)

Disney World - Day 4

We spent the 4th day at Hollywood Studios! It was a great pick for our last day, we did it as a half day & rested that morning.

Henry finally got a hat of his own...

Our family

Em & Nanny

Under the hat

Fake city, lol

My cutie waiting for lunch

We at lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.  It was a cool concept, we ate in cars & watched old Sci Fi movies on a big screen.  Sadly the food was just ok & Henry was difficult the whole time....

Our car

This is how Henry spent the whole meal, hanging over the back of our seat, letting Nanny feed him.  It was annoying.

We went to the Beauty & the Beast show, which was a highlight!  Both kids LOVE shows. Seriously, Henry just sits there, stares, & points. He even claps at the appropriate times.

All the excitement wore him out.  He took a nap...

And David, Emma, & I used our fastpasses to ride the Tower of Terror.  Now, keep in mind David & I had no desire to ride this ride, this was ALL Emma.  She asked to ride it the very first day we spent at Disney. She is crazy.

Here she is before...

And after! She was a little scared, but liked it & asked to ride it again.  We said NO.

Cool dude in Mommy's shades.

She did get to ride the Star Wars (Star Tours) ride twice. She liked it.  Actually, she liked it way more than Nanny & Papa did....they said it was too intense for them :)

We ate dinner at Pizza Planet & then got to use our fastpasses for Toy Story Mania!!!! Which was awesome!  One of my favorite rides for sure!  Emma asked to ride it again too, but with a 90 minute wait at 8pm, we said no.

We headed back to the condo to pack it up & head out the next morning.  Henry's picture below sums up how we all felt on the way home - we were exhausted (with crazy hair, lol)!!!

We had the best trip & can't wait to get to go again!!!!! It truly is the Happiest Place on Earth & my kids were so well behaved, I was very proud!
