Firetruck!
On St. Patrick's Day, we visited Grandma & Grandpa's house. Henry clung to Aunt Susan that day, it was so sweet :)
Our nephew Thompson LOVES Firetrucks. One of Grandma & Grandpa's neighbors works at a Volunteer Fire Station near their house, & was kind enough to give us a tour! (Grandpa, Thompson, William)

Mr Mike showing the kiddos everything on the firetruck. They were very impressed!

They had a great time - Emma is still talking about it! :)

Emma's 4th Birthday!
So I had this bright idea that Emma needed an Art Birthday Party this year. I kind of over-did it, but it was really nice & turned out really good. It just took lots of preparation & then I was pretty much dead when it was over! Ha! Next year, we'll have it somewhere other than my house! LOL
So first, there was the candy bar on the buffet in my dining room. I made the garland up above.
My precious friend Valerie made the Happy Birthday Banner - it was so cute (hi buzz!)
Valerie also designed the invitations & the sign for the front door & this one to the garage (i.e., art studio!)
We borrowed folding tables & chairs from my parents & set everything up in the garage, which was perfect!
We had 3 art projects - first was painting a canvas!
Then we made necklaces & bracelets with beads!
And finally, we decorated picture frames! I mailed a picture of each child in their thank you notes, for their picture frame.
I tried to stick with a rainbow theme as best I could - you can see the fruit. To the right is layered jello.
You can see the jello a little better in this pic. I did all the colors of the rainbow over a few days. It turned out really cute & was a big hit!
Dessert/snack table. We also served Papa Johns.
My big girl with her cake :)
And the rainbow cake! This really turned out good & tasted good too. Great Pinterest find :)
My sweet friend Elizabeth from work volunteered to paint the kids' faces - totally a hit!
Proof Henry was there too - he had a lot of fun playing, he ended up getting worn out & taking a nap!
Opening presents :)
Mommy & Emma :)
She had a GREAT birthday party! We are so thankful so many of our family & friends could join us! I can't believe my baby is 4!

New York - Part 2
After NYC, we spent 2 nights in Upstate NY just to have some quiet time to relax!
The first morning, we woke up to SNOW! Which was pretty cool, especially since we saw NO snow this year in Georgia.
We drove up to New Paltz, NY while we were there - we spent part of our honeymoon there 6 1/2 years ago. This was actually the Lodge we stayed at on our honeymoon - awww! Looked a little different under snow, rather than when we saw it before in July!
We did more sight-seeing, saw a movie, & ate lots of food. The next day we headed back to Atlanta, but first, I wanted to do something I hadn't done on my previous 2 trips to New York - drive over the Brooklyn Bridge. It didn't disappoint.
We had the BEST time going on a trip, just the two of us! We were very thankful to both David's parents & mine who watched our kiddos while we were gone! We sure missed those pumpkins!

New York!
David & I had the opportunity to go to New York in February! We had the BEST time!
We visited NY last during part of our honeymoon almost 7 years ago (Yikes!) so it was really neat to see it after some time. On our honeymoon, we only took Taxis (& walked), but on this trip, we went for the full experience & only took the train & subway while we were downtown! Proof below that we took the train from NJ to NYC :)
We walked to Times Square...
We went to the top of the Empire State Building - it was a beautiful day! When we went on our honeymoon, there was 0 visibility, so we had a MUCH better view! haha
Of course we had to go to Macy's! We picked up a few things for Em & got Starbucks from one of the THREE in the store.
My very favorite part was our Pedicab ride through Central Park!
We didn't have stinky horses, just a really nice guy who drove us around on a bike & told us some history & trivia. We saw so much of the park, I just loved it.
Plus, with all the walking we did in the city, we really wouldn't have made it far in Central Park, my feet hurt way too bad.
And then, my camera died (of course!)
To be continued :)
