1st Day of Pre-K

Emma started Pre-K on the 6th.  She's going to Peachtree & loves it so far!

She has to wear uniforms & looks pretty stinkin' cute, if I do say so!

I love this sweet big girl.  I can't believe she's old enough to go to Pre-K.  Henry & I sure miss her at home!!!!

Zoo with Valerie, Jack, Nanny, & Papa

We went to the zoo with Valerie & Jack, & my parents right before Emma went back to school.

It was hot.... lol

We had a great time at the zoo! Sadly, we headed to the kids' area a little late & the ticket booth was closed for the train & carousel :( We played on the playground, before heading to dinner with Nanny & Papa downtown.

We love the zoo!!

Handprint ABC Book

As our summer project, we did an ABC handprint book.  We did handprint letters a 2-3 days a week once I started staying home.  Mostly, we did about 3 letters a day.  The last week, we were on a time crunch, so did 6(!) letters & a cover page. It was a little too much, but we managed & finished our ABC books before Emma went back to school!

Handwashing...

Some of our letters

I already knew how much Emma liked projects & painting, but Henry does too.  He was so good waiting his turn & being cooperative with his handprints.  I'll have to keep doing art with him.

My two cute little artists :)

The sweeties & Henry's cover page.

The books turned out so cute!!

Ballet, Tap, & Playing

Emma is gearing up for another year of dance.  This year, her class is a full hour & they are doing both ballet & tap.  Emma got new shoes & LOVES her tap shoes.  She enjoyed trying on her outfit & trying out her new tap shoes in the kitchen :)

Henry really likes Emma's toys (& she likes his).  He got into this doll cradle with a little help.

Poor kid.  I think he likes her attention :)

And.... another day he got into her doll stroller....

Later, he got back in on his own, ha.

Silly kids.  I'm crazy about them :)

Trip Part 3 - Reunion & Ride Home

The next morning, we had breakfast with our cousins & did a little playing.

Took a few group pictures....

And then we drove a couple hours to the family reunion.  Henry was so glad to see his grandma!

And he was really into the kid-size John Deere.

After the reunion, we drove a few hours & stopped at a hotel for the night (& a swim in the pool).  We then headed the rest of the way home.  We had a great trip & enjoyed seeing David's family!

Trip Part 2 - Visiting with Grandparents

We drove from St. Louis to Carthage, Missouri to stay a couple nights at David's grandparents.  We love getting to see them!

Emma had fun watching TV with Great Grandpa.

My two monkeys.

Sitting with Great Grandma

Their next door neighbors have miniature horses. Emma had fun going to see them.

The boys came too, but it got hot quickly.

Henry was too funny hanging out on the AC vent.

Uncle Brent, Aunt Leslie, & kids came over that evening & we ate pizza & played.  The kids picked apples out of Grandma & Grandpa's apple tree.

Em sat on Uncle Brent's shoulders to pick an apple.

Henry liked being in the tree too :)

Trip Part 1 - St. Louis & Driving

In late July we drove to Missouri to visit David's grandparents & go to a family reunion.  We left in the middle of the night and unfortunately, the kids never really went back to sleep.  Luckily they did take some naps & were sweet little car riders :)

We took a long stop in St. Louis.  My precious friend Jenifer recently moved to St. Louis, so we stopped & visited her new house, & we had lunch with her.  We had a great time visiting with her - I could kick myself for not taking a few pictures.  We can't wait to see her next time she's in Atlanta.

We were going to leave for the rest of the drive to David's grandparents', but we decided to take a quick stop & see the Arch in St. Louis.  It was a good opportunity for the kids to run off some energy before the 4 hour drive to Carthage, MO.

I wanted a picture of me & the kids in front of the Arch... you see how well it turned out. Ha!

We didn't go to the top, but we visited the museum under the Arch.  Henry's favorite part was the bear at the entrance of the museum.  He kept pointing it & doing his favorite animal noise - Rawr!!!

It was so very hot in St. Louis (ok, the entire time we were in Missouri).  They have had pretty much a month+ of temps 100+.  And we thought it was hot here!

So the visit with Jeni & playing at the Arch did their job - both kids passed out!

Poor Emma looked so uncomfortable.  After I took the picture, I found her pillow & helped her get more comfortable. LOL
